9:23:00 Kzoom’s longest tracking employee Josh Stanton joins to talk about his years at Kzoom, and is heckled in the Chat comments by his wife Chelsea. Josh takes on the challenge and sings I want it that way by the Backstreet Boys. Chelsea then joins virtually as the two rap Beauty and a Beat (feat. Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj) after Chelsea claims she can’t remember the lyrics and goes on to amaze the world with her rap. Josh and Dan recount the memories of December 2020 in shooting for Pfizer’s vaccine release from Kalamazoo, MI.
9:47:50 Kzoom’s social media sensation, Kiah, joins “double-live” and makes a refreshing mocktail to keep Dan alert.
9:50:50 Unannounced, Dan’s oldest daughter Madison joins virtually (with cousin Graham on camera) as she is crossing the Mackinac Bridge and upholds a family tradition of asking the Bridge Toll worker a naive and fun question. She loses signal shortly after passing the toll booth, but completed the mission.
10:10:00 Mike’s wife Rachael stops by Kzoom to bring Mike refreshments off camera but doesn’t join the livestream this time in a rap duet.
10:10:30 Dan’s nephew Andrew joins from Plymouth Michigan and talks YouTube and influencer trends. Little did we know at the time, he will become the most faithful participant in the Kzoom 20 hour livestream as he remains engaged for the next 11 hours. Dan’s younger sister Beth joins and tells stories from the early days, adding detail to the first camera Dan had at age 14.
10:39:10 Fresh off a nap, Adam Sterenberg, founder and principal of the Tree of Life School in Kalamazoo joins to share commentary on the correct spelling of his name, bike lane opinions, as well as recounting the beginnings and recent growth of Path of Life School.
10:59:10 Fresh off the golf course, Kalamazoo Chamber Director Clarence Lloyd joins and shares his career journey which led back to Kalamazoo and his current role at Southwest Michigan First.
11:04:20 Jaqua’s Kristen Clancy joins virtually unscheduled and asks Clarence about the new leave early Friday afternoon policy at SWMIF, which Clarence explains the benefit in terms of company culture improvement.
11:33:33 Friends and owners of Aire Serv of Kalamazoo, Ben and Carisa Farrer, enter the livestream in person to share about their company journey, use of video, and they end up both trying fresh goat milk after saying they weren’t going to. They close out the first 12 hours as Kzoom hits Vimeo’s maximum time limit for the first time in history. Jordan and Mike begin segment 2 below within 30 seconds, and Kiah covers any doubt of the legitimacy of the 20 hour livestream by streaming by phone during the lapse.
0:2:00 Friend, mentor, and fellow What About Bob enthusiast, Dean Ferris, joins from northern Michigan and for the first time ever for sure, explains how family lines are drawn over the love or dislike of this movie. Unannounced, common friend Paul Knapp joins to talk movies, and has a significant greater knowledge than Dan to do so intelligently.
0:34:20 Kzoom’s newest employee and graphic design expert, Nora Duncan, joins Mike to share some of her month old memories of joining this crazy crew.
0:48:00 New friend Duncan Eric Oleshak II, owner of SWYM Media, joins to meet Nora Duncan, and then share about his company’s new offering of LED Video Walls.
1:01:00 Friend/customer/business owner Brad Scoffin comes into the stream in person and shares about gardening, business ownership, and how Advanced Business Brokers helps business owners buy and sell their businesses.
1:18:30 JZ from Real Chemistry joins to recount working with Kzoom for Pfizer’s Vaccine release in 2020, as well as President Biden’s visit in February 2021.
1:50:35 Dan and Channon Russette Mondoux of Kalamazoo’s upcoming first annual Canadianafest (October 7, 2023) join for the next several hours to cook authentic Canadian poutine, as well as educate us Canadian Envious on the meaning of many words, as well as the value of sharing cultures with our nearest neighbor.
4:39:15 2nd Story Marketing’s Courtney Dirschell joins for a second time, this time at Kzoom’s office, since she can’t get enough of the livestream (and, for a small part, questioned if it was really happening).
4:44:44 Long-term Kzoom videographer and editor, Jonny Finch, joins from family vacation/South Haven. Jonny shares detail about several of the scariest projects he’s been a part of at Kzoom, like filming at the Coldwater Jail, as well as high recognition received for a recent 2022 video for Stryker that was chosen as a top video for the year.
5:30:10 Dan falls back on several pieces of ancient Kzoom history and shares about the purchase of the original kzoom.com website, as well as early logos and advertisements in the Yellowpages. Mike joins in this final stretch to keep Dan awake, and they participate in catching Swedish fish by hand toss as well as several other challenges from the faithful online chat members.
6:44:00 Surprise guests and long-time friends, Mitch and Kristin Poll, throw a comment in the chat as they jump on to check if this thing is for real. They get tossed the online link and join from home as they are falling asleep.
6:58:10 Scheduled closing guest and lifelong friend Kenny VR joins from a western time zone that isn’t nearly as punishing as hour 20 in Kalamazoo. Kenny is credited at Kzoom for being the first purchaser of “Kzoom drinks” is is the keeper of many memories. Dan and Kenny are joined in a surprise connection from mutual friend Alec Glass, who said it wasn’t a good time, but had 5 minutes, which turned into an hour, taking the Kzoom 20 hour livestream across the finish line at midnight.
